Picture Justice Application

Picture Justice 2018

Summer 2018 - July 16th - August 3rd

PROOF is excited to offer a summer intensive of its successful human rights and photojournalism program, Picture Justice, to High School students.

Picture Justice is a creative photojournalism program designed to educate students about social justice issues right in their own communities. The program fosters critical thinking and research skills, promotes compassion and empathy for those affected by the subject matter, and equips students with the tools they need to communicate what they have learned to the public. Picture Justice’s ultimate goal is to create engaged citizens who feel empowered to lead and effect change in their own communities.

Participating students will work with professional photographers, journalists, and educators, to explore issues related to activism in the U.S.

Picture Justice 2018 students will hone their listening skills, learn ethical reporting and photojournalism techniques, and visually document the stories of people with firsthand experiences with activism and the movements challenging the status quo and society injustices.

All interested students are encouraged to apply.
